The NFL Scouting Combine is a prime opportunity for draft hopefuls to boost their stock, but it’s also a risky proposition for many prospects.

At the action kicks off at Lucas Oil Stadium yet again, here are five defensive prospects who have the most to lose this week.

Marcus Davenport | EDGE | UTSA

Glenn Andrews-USA TODAY Sports

Before the Senior Bowl, many were putting Davenport on a high pedestal and considered him to be a top-15 talent in this year’s draft class. An explosive edge defender with tons of athleticism, Davenport certainly has the physical tools to make NFL scouts drool.

But the practices down in Mobile proved just how raw Davenport still is, as he struggled against better competition for much of the week. His talent and athleticism were obvious, but he lacks polish when it comes to finer points of his craft. If he looks stiff in position drills and doesn’t live up to the high expectations scouts have for his explosiveness and overall athletic ability, Davenport’s stock could come crashing back to earth.
